From some of the oldest vines on the Frediani property, we are excited to share this wine with you. A complex bouquet of black cherry, crushed brick and lavender give way to an unctuous flavor profile. Notes of dark plum, Licorice and walnut skin transition into bold tannin which complement the savory qualities of this special wine.
With less than 80 acres left of this varietal in existence (all in California), Charbono is quite a rare grape. Brought to Calistoga from France in the 1880s, the 11.5 acres of Charbono vines planted at Frediani Vineyards are over 80 years old and are widely thought to produce some of the best Charbono fruit in the country.
