The Pickett Road Block is a wine of remarkable balance and depth. Its savory backbone provides a structured framework that beautifully complements the dense, ripe fruit. The palate reveals a symphony of flavors, with prominent notes of blackberries and cassis, offering a rich and satisfying experience. Layers of sage and graphite add an intriguing herbal and mineral complexity, while high-toned red fruit introduces a bright, vibrant element. These grapes, cultivated in the rockiest soils of the Frediani vineyard, contribute to the wine's distinctive character. With its impressive structure and complexity, this Cabernet Sauvignon possesses significant aging potential, promising to evolve gracefully over the next 15 to 25 years.
Planted in 2000 to Clone 4, the vines run North to South and are trained in the VSP (Vertical Shoot Position) method. The inspiration to this wine’s namesake, this location also happens to be where some of the very best blocks in this Vineyard are located due to the deep rocky soils.
