Tasting Notes
From vines planted in 1908, this classic old vine Zinfandel has characteristics showcased as dried tobacco leaves, licorice, plum, cranberries, white pepper, rose petal and floral notes. It’s beautifully concentrated and consistent, yet subtle and layered without being overbearing. A medium body with rich leather notes, building tannins, with a well-integrated finish. Aging potential 10-15 years.
Vineyard Notes
Sourced from Luvisi Vineyards, our Zinfandel is made from vines planted in 1908. The block that we source our Zinfandel grapes from is planted in a 7’ x 7’ grid, which is to spacing specifications for horse-farming. While the heat and deep roots allow for the fruit to ripen with bold flavor, their age and the cool diurnal shift at night bring it the lifted freshness and subtle acidity to keep the wine well balanced and a true reflection of the terroir characteristics.
