2016 Rosedale Block

In Stock
The standout is the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Rosedale Block, which comes from a higher elevation vineyard located along Rosedale Road, outside of Calistoga, and from vines planted in 1992. It has thrillingly polished, elegant tannins as well as a thrilling sense of purity in its blue fruits, liquid violets, and rocky, earthy minerality. It’s seamless, elegant, and full-bodied, and is just another brilliant wine from this team.

Wine Profile
Winemaker Notes
This wine expresses full palate complexity and layered nuanced flavors right
out of the bottle. This is in-line with the overall qualities we are seeing emerge from the
2016 vintage early on and it’s a welcome quality. In the glass, we see a deep purple-red
hue that is nearly opaque. Aromatic notes suggest clove, allspice, brioche, cocoa nib
and macerated blackberries. The palate dives even deeper with notes of stewed black
currant, rose oil, sandalwood, and ripe black cherry. The ample mouthfeel is very sleek
with tight-knit tannins that support this vintage’s giving figure. The long-lasting finish
extends with an ethereal flower perfume. Given 3-5 years in the cellar this wine will
evolve gracefully.
