A bright and crisp Sauvignon Blanc for 2019. Aromatics of wet slate provide the perfect minerality to the wine. Tropical notes of lychee, mandarin blossom, white peach and lemongrass fill the glass. On first sip, medium high acid with a very clean texture fill coat the palate. Flavors of Key Lime pie, tart kiwi, crushed gravel and minerality return to provide a wonderful balance. Acid brings a great texture that makes you want to keep drinking to quench your thirst.
The vines in the five-acre Sauvignon Blanc block of Frediani Vineyards were planted specifically for Vermeil Wines in the days of Jeanne Frediani (Jim Frediani’s mother and on-time matriarch of the family and business). The soil in that section of the vineyard is heavy, rich, and comprised mostly of Bale clay loams that are perfect for this varietal.
